Culture is everywhere, but few places offer as rich a smorgasbord of exotic people, quite untouched by the modern world, as Africa. Most of the lodges we patronize work closely with the communities nearby, and as a result, clients are welcomed to visit their homes and villages. From nomadic Himba people living near Serra Cafema to the Maasai of Tanzania and Kenya, we find ways to let you learn firsthand about cultures very different from our own in respectful and meaningful ways. A sleep out at Loi Saba gives you the opportunity to learn about the life of your guide, and will usually snag you an invite to the Ngong where his family lives. A visit to Botswana’s Kalahari Desert is enriched by Bushmen guides who demonstrate their skills at finding food where we would think there is nothing. Whether it be a quick visit or extended stay, let us know your wishes and we’ll find a way to make it happen! |
