The open plains, rolling Chyuliu Hills and snow capped peaks of Kilimanjaro invoke images of Africa as it was in the earlier part of the last century. This is an area of grassy plains, abundant game and Maasai herdsman living as nature determined they should in this unspoilt corner of Kenya. Ol Donyo Wuas in Maasai means “The Spotted Hills”, and is the name given by the Maasai to the Chyuliu Range which runs between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks.
There are seven individual thatched cottages and a beautiful centrally positioned mess/dining room. All cottages have en-suite bathrooms, electric lighting, an open fireplace and a veranda with panoramic views of the plains and Mount Kilimanjaro. Each evening you will decide with your hosts and guides on the activities for the following day: look for big game in open 4X4 vehicles, ride the open plains on well trained horses, game walks that allow you to learn about the smaller game, or visits to a nearby Maasai Manyatta. Bush breakfasts, sundowners on a nearby cliff, or an al fresco dinner create magical experiences you will never forget. |
